Make sure to read the pop-up brief tutorial showing how to actually use the "Smart rotation" function
    .
As you can see by the small animation, when you're looking at the front-facing camera, it will detect your eye movement while you're moving your head. The tutorial will explain that you have to hold the device appropriately: steadily and upright. This will let the device rotate its screen. You can rotate the screen horizontally or vertically, based on your head and eye movements, which are detected by the front-facing camera. Make sure your device is in a well-lit environment, but the screen should not be subject to direct light. Also, make sure that the front-facing camera is not being used by other applications while using "Smart rotation".
