You're watching VisiHow. Today, we're going to show you how to enable the motion sensor on the MapMyRun application on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, we need to unlock the phone by pressing Lock button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Alternatively, we can use the Home button at the bottom of the phone screen to unlock the phone as well
.
3
Swipe across the screen to enter a passcode, or press a finger onto the Home button to use the fingerprint scanner
.
4
Find the MapMyRun icon, which is blue and white with an image of a man running inside of a white circle
.
Tap the icon once to open the app.
5
It should automatically open the screen where we begin to record a workout
.
6
However, we now need to tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
7
On the menu that appears, scroll down and find "Connect Apps and Devices"
.
It has an image of a chain link on the left.
8
When we tap on that option, we're given a list of the different apps and devices to which we can connect
.
9
At the top, we have "iPhone Motion Sensor"
.
10
Tap on this section to open it
.
11
We can then "Enable Motion Sensor" by tapping on the bubble switch on the right side
.
It also requests that we enter our height and weight if we haven't already. When that is done, we can tap on the switch to enable the motion sensor.
12
A message will appear that states, "You've declined access to Motion Activity"
.
We will need to have the option enabled within our settings.
13
Press the Home button for now to return to the Home screen
.
14
Tap on the "Settings" icon which is a gray box with several gears inside
.
15
Then scroll down to "Privacy", which is indicated by a hand on the left
.
Tap on this to enter the "Privacy" settings.
16
Next, we should tap on "Motion & Fitness"
.
17
Then we'll see "Fitness Tracking" at the top, and we can tap the bubble switch to enable "Motion & Fitness" on MapMyRun
.
When the option is enabled, the switch is green. We could tap again to disable it as well and turn the switch back to white if desired. However, we will keep it enabled for now.
18
Now, double press the Home button, then tap to return to the MapMyRun application
.
19
We'll need to find the screen again by pressing on the three horizontal lines in the top left corner
.
20
Now, tap on "Connect Apps and Devices"
.
21
Tap on "iPhone Motion Sensor" at the top
.
22
Tap on the bubble switch to "Enable Motion Sensor", and the switch will turn blue
.
23
We can disable it again as well by tapping on the switch, and it will then turn back to white
.
24
We will tap to enable it for now
.
This is automatically saved, so we can just press "Back" in the top left corner to return to the previous screen.
25
Then tap on the three horizontal lines again in the top left corner
.
26
Finally, tap on "Record a Workout" to return to the screen where we started
.
27
Close any adverts that appear by tapping on the "x" in one of the corners
.
28
