Enable All Interruptions and Notifications on HTC One M8
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to allow all interruptions and notifications on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone is activated we will see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen and at the bottom we will see 5 icons.
3
We need to find the settings menu and to do that, we can swipe the notification panel down
.
To do that, press and hold at the top of the phone, then swipe down. The notification panel will appear.
4
We are looking for the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
This is our settings icon. Press down on it to open up the settings menu. It will say "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
5
We need to scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section, then tap on "Sound & notification"
.
There is a speaker icon next to it emanating some sound waves. Press down on this option to open the sound and notification options.
6
Tap on "Interruptions", the last option in the "GENERAL" section
.
7
We want to tap on the first option, "When calls and notifications arrive"
.
It currently is set to "Don't interrupt". We want to demonstrate how to allow all of the interruptions and notifications. Pressing down on the first option will bring up 3 options.
8
We want to tap on "Always interrupt"
.
When calls and notifications arrive, always interrupt. It will close the little box.
9
Now it is set to "Always interrupt"
.
This is the long way to do this. We showed this because it's important, but it is the longer way to get to this menu. What we can do for a shorter way to change this option is to press down on a volume button.
10
We need to press the volume button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
It can be the up or down volume button.
11
The box will disappear very quickly, but we can see the word "ALL" highlighted in green because we have it set to always interrupt
.
If we want to change it, we can tap on "NONE" or "PRIORITY".
12
If it's set to "NONE" and we want to change it to allow all phone calls and notifications, we can tap on "ALL"
.
13
If we don't decide fast enough, the box will close and the phone will tell us what setting we're on
.
We need to press the volume button again.
14
If "NONE" is selected, we will see it say "Don't interrupt" in the settings
.
15
If "ALL" is selected, it will highlight the word in green and change the settings to say "Always interrupt"
.
It is the same option, but one actually goes into the settings menu, but one is the short option, pressing the volume button.
16
This concludes the tutorial on how to allow all interruptions and notifications on an HTC One M8
.
