Electronically Sign a Document Using Preview on Mac

Click the document in the Finder window

Then, right-click the document name

Move the cursor to "Open with"

In the expanded menu that appears, click "Preview"

Once the document has been opened, scroll through it to find the place where you want to sign

Then, click "Tools" in the menu at the top of the screen

Move the cursor to "Annotate"

Then, move the cursor to "Signature" in the expanded menu
.

Finally, click "Manage Signatures..."

A new popup box will appear that gives you two options. You can use either the trackpad or camera to obtain your signature.

Check the correct button at the top to choose one of these options

Both will be demonstrated in this tutorial.

For the trackpad, click "Click Here to Begin" inside the gray box

On the trackpad, draw the signature

In this video, initials are written using the trackpad.

Then, press a key when you've finished

If you are satisfied with how your signature looks, click "Done"

Now, click and drag the signature onto the document

Resize the signature by clicking and dragging its anchor points

For the second signature, let's click "Tools"

Move the cursor to "Annotate"

Click "Manage Signatures..." under the tools menu

A small pop-up box will appear.

Click "Create Signature" to create a new signature using the web camera

To use the web camera function, click the "Camera" tab at the top of the next window

A message below the camera screen reads "Sign your name on a white sheet of paper. Then hold it to be visible to the camera".

Now, leave your signature on a blank sheet of paper

Hold your signature up so that it rests on the bottom blue line

If you made a mistake in taking a picture of the signature, you can click "Clear"

When the signature is on the screen, click "Done"

To delete your signature from the document, click it and press "delete"

To place your signature in the document, make sure to find and click the page on which the signature should appear

Then, click the signature in the small pop-up box at the top of the screen

Alternatively, click "Tools"

Move the cursor to "Annotate" and then to "Signature" and click your signature.

After the signature is pasted into the document, click and drag the signature to place it where needed

Click and drag the anchor points in the corners to resize the signature
.
It should be above the line.
