Edited by Thor, Alexander Avdeev
Hello! Welcome to VisiHow! In this video, we are going to show you how to edit a profile in the Skype application when using the Microsoft Lumia 535.
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone. Once the phone is activated, you will see the lock screen.
Swipe the lock screen up to get to the home screen.
Find the Skype tile on the home screen. In this example, Skype is pinned to the home screen. The tile has a blue background with the white Skype logo, which is a white circle with a blue letter "S" in the middle. If the tile has not been pinned to the home screen, then swipe left to find it in the Apps menu.
Tap the Skype application to enter it. Once the application has loaded, enter the profile page by following the next step.
Tap the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen to enter the profile page. There will be the name, photo, and various information. If a profile photo is added to the profile, then the photo will be visible. Otherwise, there will be an outline of head and shoulders in a half-empty circle as the photo. Search the VisiHow site to find how to add or change the profile photo in Skype. To continue with the tutorial follow the steps below.
Tap the "view account" icon to update or edit the profile. The icon is written in blue text and has an outline of head and shoulders in blue. If it is tapped, the Skype website will be accessed. This means that the Internet connection is required.
Once the page has loaded, tap anywhere in the area at the top of the screen. The area has the name, the profile photo, and the profile completeness with its bar. For this tutorial, the profile completeness is at 50% with a blue bar indicating progress. If the area is pressed, the whole area will be slightly highlighted. Now, the personal information will be shown. The personal information includes "Profile completeness" with a bar indicating its progress, "Personal information" written in a blue speech bar, the profile photo, the name, the last name, and other options. If some text is highlighted in blue, then that means that it can be edited.
Tap any text highlighted in blue. It does not matter what text is tapped, as the same screen will be shown. For example, "not specified" under "Gender". A new screen will be shown.
Tap the "Select gender" option to select the gender.
Tap the gender. For example, "Male".
Tap "Day" under "Birthday" to modify the birthdate.
Tap the day. For example, 24.
Tap "Month" under "Birthday" to modify the birthdate.
Tap the month. For example, January.
Tap "Year" under "Birthday" to modify the birthdate.
Tap the year. For example, 1984.
Tap the "Add language" text box.
Tap the required language. For example, English; but any other language can be chosen.
Tap "City" to input the city. In the video, this is not modified.
Tap "Add country" to add the country. For example, Georgia.
Tap "State/province" to add the state, province, or region data. Tap and fill the rest of the input boxes if needed.
Tap the text box under "About me" to enter the personal information. The character limit is at 200.
Write something down by using the virtual keyboard. Any textual information can be entered. For example, "Humm".
Once the information has been entered, tap anywhere on the white area outside of the text boxes. This will hide the keypad and allow further scrolling and redacting if needed.
Once all of the personal data have been entered into the text boxes, scroll down and find the "Save" button. The button is a big green elliptical area that says "Save" in the middle in white letters.
To discard all changes, press the "Cancel" button. The button is a big white elliptical area that says "Cancel" in black.
To accept all changes, tap "Save". This will take a moment to update, and the screen will automatically scroll up to show the profile completeness progress. In the video, it has gone up to 90%, which is great. There are a couple of input fields left empty to save time, but it can be seen that the rest of the entered information has been added. The personal profile has been personalized, and all of the information has been added.
