Edited by Thor, JellyBean, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to edit a photo in the Photos application on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen
.
To unlock the phone swipe the screen upwards.
3
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen
.
At the bottom we will see some icons.
4
It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open up the "Apps" folder
.
To do that we need to use the icon located at the bottom of the home screen and in the middle. We can see that there is a grid made up of white dots.
5
Press down on this icon and it will open up our Applications folder
.
6
In this folder we need to find the Photos application
.
This one is located on the bottom row. We can see that there is an icon of a shape, and it's made up of different colors. Underneath, it says the word "Photos". The "Photos" application may be located anywhere in this folder. Therefore, we will need to locate it.
7
When we find it, we need to press down on the icon to enter the application
.
In this video tutorial we want to show how to edit a photo. To do that we must first select a photo.
8
We can choose any photo we like and then press down on it
.
9
This will allow us to enter that photo
.
We now need to use the icon located at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a white pencil.
10
Press down on that icon and it will bring up some editing options
.
Make sure that the icon in the lower left corner is highlighted in blue, and we can see the options. The first thing we need to be warned about is that this editing function can be a little bit temperamental. Often when we go in and out of these options, we might have to do that several times. This is because they pop up and they pop down. This maybe is a slight glitch with this editing function.
11
We are going to start then on the far right-hand side of the screen
.
We can see it says the word "Vignette". There is an icon of a square with a circle inside.
12
Press down on this icon and it will open up a scale at the bottom
.
We can see there's a scale and a blue circle.
13
We're going to press down on the blue circle
.
Then we'll move our finger right and left to position that blue circle somewhere on the scale that we're happy with. Press down on that blue circle and move it to a position that we want.
14
We can see that this option, "Vignette", is going to make the corners of the photo darker
.
We can edit this choice of course.
15
We're going to move on now to the next option and that is "Pop"
.
Press down on the word "Pop".
16
Same scenario, we have the scale and the blue circle
.
17
We're going to press down on the blue circle and move it to the position that we want
.
This option is quite subtle. It's going to give greater clarity to some of the lines, but it doesn't have the biggest effect. We can press down on the blue circle and move it to a position that we're happy with.
18
Press down on the word "Color". The same idea, we have the scale. Now, the blue circle is in the middle.
19
If we move it to the left it's going to take away color
.
If we move it to the right it's going to add more color. We can press down on the blue circle now and move it to a position that we're happy with.
20
Press down on the word "Light" and we have the same scale.
21
We can press down on the blue circle and move it
.
If we move it left, it's going to make it darker. If we move it to the right, it's going to make it lighter.
22
As we can see the scale has disappeared
.
This sometimes happens, as we were saying, with this application. It can be quite temperamental.
23
If we press down on the word "Light" again, we can see that it actually takes us out
.
24
Let's press down on the word "Light" once more
.
We can now see this scale has reappeared.
25
Once we're happy with these options, we can press down on the Check located at the bottom right of the screen
.
26
We can also reset the options if we want to totally reset all the changes we've made
.
Press down on the "Reset" icon located on the left side.
27
If we're happy, we can press down on the white Check and that's going to take us backwards into this section
.
It's going to bring up the option in the top right-hand corner of the screen that says the word "SAVE".
28
Press down on the word "SAVE" and that will save the photo
.
It says "Saved" on the screen. Now, if we go back to the photo album, we'll be able to view this photo.
29
This concludes our tutorial on how to edit a photo in the Photos application on an HTC One M8
