   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Facebook application

   There is a Facebook icon, which is a blue background with a white "f" inside, and underneath it says the word "Facebook". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder. We now need to find the account settings menu.

   To do that, we need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   Scroll up or down to find "Account Settings", and tap on it

   There will be a gray circle with a white head and shoulders and gear inside. This will open up the account settings menu.

   Scroll and press down on the option labeled "Who can send you friend requests?", in the "Who can contact me?" section

   Underneath it says "Everyone", indicating that this option is currently selected. Anyone and everyone can send us a friend request.

   Tap on the chosen option

   The options are "Everyone" and "Friends of Friends". "Everyone" is currently selected, indicated by the blue check mark. We'll choose "Friends of Friends". This will take us back to the "Privacy" menu.

    Now it says "Friends of Friends" underneath the option, indicating that the option was successfully selected
