Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to edit who can see your future posts in Facebook on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards
.
4
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see several icons
.
It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open up the Applications folder.
5
To do that, we can use the icon locate at the bottom of the home screen and in the middle
.
It is a grid made up of white dots.
6
Press down on that icon, and it will open the "Apps" folder
.
7
In this folder, we now need to find the "Facebook" application
.
It has the "Facebook" icon, which is a blue tile with a white "f" on top. Underneath, it says the word "Facebook".
8
Press down on the "Facebook" icon, and it will open up the application
.
9
We need to find the Settings menu, and to do that we can use the icon on the far right-hand side of the screen and in the white bar
.
There are three gray horizontal lines.
10
Press down on that icon, and it will open up a menu
.
11
We want the fourth option that says "Account Settings"
.
Next to those words is a gray circle with the white outline of a person's head and shoulders inside of it. It also has a small white cog icon. It might be necessary to scroll up or down in order to find the "Account Settings" option.
12
When found, press down on "Account Settings" to open the "Settings" menu
.
13
We want the third option that says "Privacy", so press down on that
.
14
At the top, it says, "Who can see my stuff?"
15
We're interested in the first option just underneath that which says, "Who can see your future posts?" Currently, it says "Friends", indicating that is the option selected
.
Only our friends can see our future posts.
16
If we press down on that option, then it opens the "Select Audience" screen for that section
.
It says, "You can manage the privacy of things you share by using the audience selector right where you post. This control remembers your selection so future posts will be shared with the same audience unless you change It." That means that we can choose the audience for our individual posts, and we can also choose our audience in general. This is the more general setting, and it is for all of our posts in general.
17
Currently, the blue check mark indicates that we have selected "Friends"
.
18
If we prefer, we can change that to "Public", so everyone will be able to see our future posts
.
To do that, press down on "Public".
19
Now, it brings us back to the previous screen, and we can see that it says the word "Public" under the first option, indicating that we have changed that option
.
20
One thing we want to mention is that there is a slight glitch with this application
.
If we want to go back into the first option and make another change, we can press down on it, and the option will turn blue. However, nothing happens.
21
When this happens, what we need to do is press the back arrow, which is the curved arrow located at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen
.
22
Press that once, and we'll see the screen flicker
.
It tries to go back but will not actually leave the current menu.
23
Now, we can press down on the first option, and it will be able to open that section
.
This problem only occurs when we actually make a different choice. If we don't actually make a new choice and then just go back out, then we can go back in with no problem.
24
However, if we make a different choice, such as if select "Friends", then when we try to go back into that section again from the previous menu, it will not work until we press the back button
.
