Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to edit when the usage and crash reports are sent in Google Chrome on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons.
3
It is one of these icons that we now need, to open up the applications folder
.
To do that, we need this icon at the bottom of the home screen, in the middle. It looks like a grid, made up of white dots. Press down on this icon to open up our applications folder.
4
In this folder, we need to find the Google Chrome application
.
Mine is located here. We can see the Google Chrome icon, which is a circle made up of different colors. Underneath, it says the word "Chrome". Our Google Chrome application may be in different positions in this folder. Therefore, we will need to find it. Once we've done that, press down on it, to enter the application.
5
Once the application has opened up, we need to go to this icon, in the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
It looks like three small black dots in a vertical line. Press down on this icon, and it will open up a menu.
6
Let's scroll down until we get to the "Settings" section
.
It says the word "Settings" here. Press down on it to open up our "Settings" menu.
7
Scroll down until we get to the "Advanced" section, written in blue
.
8
Underneath it is the word privacy, which is the section we want
.
Press down on it, and it will open up our privacy menu.
9
We want this option called, "Usage and crash reports
:
Only send on WiFi." This is the option that is currently selected. Press down on this section and a window will appear. On that window, there will be several options to select from. We have "Always send", "Only send on WiFi", and "Never send". These settings are for reports on crashing and usage.
10
If we want to send a report all of the time, then choose this option; "Always send"
.
11
The option "Only send on WiFi" is currently selected
.
We know this because of the blue circle. It will only send if we are connected to WiFi.
12
If we never want them to be sent, then choose "Never send"
.
I am going to choose "Never send". Choose the option that works best for you.
13
Now, underneath "Usage and crash reports" says "Never send."
14
If we press down on this section again, we will see that the blue circle has moved
.
If we wanted to change it, then just press down on one of the other options.
15
This then, concludes our tutorial on how to edit when the usage and crash reports are sent in Google Chrome on an HTC One M8
.
