- 1Find the Windows icon in the bottom-left corner of your screen and click it once to load recent programs. Illustrator might be on the list. Illustrator is indicated by a brown-and-orange icon with the letters "Ai".Open Adobe Illustrator by clicking its icon on the desktop or by clicking the start menu.
