Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to edit what mobile push notifications you receive from Facebook on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Facebook application

   There is a Facebook icon, which is a blue background with a white "f" inside, and underneath it says the word "Facebook". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.

   We now need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner to find the account settings menu

   Scroll up or down to find "Account Settings", and tap on it

   There will be a gray circle with a white head and shoulders and gear inside. This will open up the account settings menu.

   Tap on the "Notifications" option

   We want the option labeled "Mobile Push"

   .

   Push notifications are when we receive notifications directly to our HTC One M8. Normally, we would just have a notification icon inside of Facebook, but this way the notifications show on our phone to tell us that we have a notification in the application. We will have a number of different options, "Mentions You in a Comment", "Tags You in a Post", "Likes", "Pokes", "Group Posts and Comments", "Birthday Reminder", "Activity you've missed", and "Application Invites". All of these options are currently selected, indicated by the blue check marks in the boxes. This means that we will receive push notifications about all of these different options.

   If we want to turn one off, we can press down on the check mark

   .

   The page will refresh and we will see "Changes saved." at the top, and the box will not have a check mark in it. Now we will not receive notifications about when we are mentioned in a comment. To turn more off, just follow the same procedure; tap on the check mark.
