   To access the Favorite Contacts, you have to tap this little star in the left bottom corner of your screen

   Here are your favorite contacts

   .

   The difference between Favorites on your phone and Favorites on WhatsApp is that with Favorites on your phone, you get to pick them. You add people there and you remove them. When it comes to WhatsApp Favorites, your phone contacts are automatically added to your Favorites list. It adds the people that are already registered and using the WhatsApp application. You cannot add them, but you can edit the list.

   To remove people from the WhatsApp Favorites, you have to tap the Edit button in the top left corner of your screen

   As you can see, now we have some round circles on the left next to the favorite contacts profile pictures

   Just tap on the red circle and it gives you an option to delete

   Press Delete.

   You also have an option to delete all of them on the top right corner of your screen

   After you finish editing your contact list, press Done to save the progress

   You have to keep in mind that when you restore your phone or if you reinstall the WhatsApp application on it, all of the contacts that you have just removed from the Favorites list will be added again because the phone automatically adds contacts that are currently using the WhatsApp application

   .

   If you don't want that to happen, go to your Contacts and delete the contacts you don't want in the WhatsApp Favorites. In that case, when you restore your phone or if you reinstall the WhatsApp application those people will no longer be in your Favorites list.

Contact appears on favorites list but not on contact list?

There is a contact in my favorites list that will not appear on my contacts list. I've tried adding it and creating it new but it still won't show up on the contacts list. Also, the contact info screen is different than the others, it shows options to "send message, call, create new contact or add to existing contact" (and won't let me do either of the last two.) My other contacts show "send message, share contact, export chat or clear chat," or if they aren't on WhatsApp there's an option to invite them. I can see the profile pic so don't think it's blocked. Any ideas? All other questions are about how to add a contact to WhatsApp or to the favorites list, but not the other way around. I have tried: Deleting and creating a new contact, adding to an existing contact, refreshing favorites and contacts lists, refreshing WhatsApp's access to my contacts. I think it was caused by: I have no idea. It was there before and just vanished.
