A while back I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S2 which caused a crack within the inside screen (not the outside). The screen is black and I cannot use any of the keys (home, back search etc). Is there a way that I can at least get all my pictures off this phone although I had the phone service discontinued? I have tons of pictures I would love to get off. I took the back off and noticed my phone did not have a SIM card. I see a slot but no card.
A SIM card does not store pictures; that would be an SD card. A SIM card connects your phone to a cellular network, but an SD card stores your pictures, music, and other files on your phone. If you have an SD card, you can take the card out of your phone and plug it into your computer to transfer the files that were stored on the card. However, if you don't have one, and your Samsung Galaxy S2's screen is broken, you will need to try to connect your phone to your computer using Samsung Kies. Follow the simple steps below to try to transfer your phone's pictures to your computer:
- 1
- 2Once the application has downloaded and installed, plug your phone into your computer.
- 3Follow the onscreen instructions.
- 4From here, click the Pictures tab.
- 5You can now transfer your pictures to your computer.
If you can get through those instructions, your phone will transfer its pictures to your computer via Samsung Kies. However, if Kies notifies you that your phone is locked because you setup a lock-screen pattern or password, you won't be able to transfer your pictures to your computer. If the pictures are very valuable to you, you can contact a local phone repair shop to get a new screen installed on your phone so you can get your pictures back.
