Download YouTube videos directly to your iPhone or iPad's Photos app with Shortcuts in iOS 12. Watch some of your favorite video content offline, without having to stream over an internet connection; handy when you're low on data or away from suitable WiFi networks.

Using the Shortcuts mobile app and Siri's Download YouTube shortcut, saving videos directly to your device is relatively straightforward. An internet connection is required to access and download videos, so ensure you're watching your data if not using WiFi.

**Important** To avoid any copyright issues, you should only download videos that are in the public domain, have a creative commons license attribute, or are owned by yourself.

For the following guide, we used an iPhone 7 running iOS 12.3.

    Go to Shortcuts' app page, tap GET, then tap Install.

    Once installed, the message Added to Library appears
