To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, you'll see the lock screen
.
Swipe the lock screen to enter the home screen.

Find and press the "Podcasts" tile on the home screen to enter the application

There is a blue background with a white symbol emanating sound waves. If it is not pinned to the home screen, swipe the screen to the left and locate it in the "Apps" menu.

Select a podcast to download an episode or podcast directly to the Microsoft Lumia 535
.
There are two ways to do this. Select one from "favorites", or swipe across the screen to "get podcasts" and search for one in the text box. Press down on the text box at the top of the screen and type in some information, such as a name, genre or address for the podcast.

Press outside of the text box and return to the "favorites" section by swiping left on the screen

Select and press a tile under "favorites". For example, I will press the "History Extra podcast" tile.

Enter the episodes menu where a list of episodes are displayed

If you're in the overview menu, swipe left to enter the episodes menu.

To download an episode, choose one from the list and press it

For example, I will choose "Medieval universities and an unlikely friendship".

Press the icon on the bottom-right of the screen, which appears as a white circle with a white arrow pressing down on a white line

This will download the podcast.

A blue bar will appear on the screen that says "downloading..." in very small letters

The bar will run across the screen, and when it's finished, the podcast will be downloaded.

To go back and download all episodes at once, press the white arrow icon located at the bottom-left corner of the phone

Press the ellipses icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen to enter the menu

Press the box below "episodes to keep"

Press "All" in the menu to download all of the episodes at the same time. To stream episodes without downloading, choose "None (stream only).

Press the "save" icon at the bottom of the screen, which is a white circle with a disk inside it
