Do a Frontside 50-50 Grind
Edited by Spencer Fitzgerald, Crystal, Eng
Hi, welcome to VisiHow. I'm Spencer Fitzgerald and today I'm going to be teaching you how to do a frontside 50-50 grind. If you've followed along with our previous videos and have your ollies down pat, you're going to want to learn grinds. 50-50's are the most basic grind. All it involves is an ollie, and placing both of your trucks onto the ledge you're grinding.
To do a frontside 50-50, we're going to want to roll up to the ledge on our skateboard in an ollie position, with our shoulders parallel to the ledge and our toes facing the ledge.
We're going to want to bend down into the ollie position, pop an ollie, but instead of ollieing forward, we want to ollie in front of us. When we do that, we're going to be landing onto the ledge.
When we land on the ledge, we're going to want to ride out the 50-50 by standing up until we're comfortable. Then when we're finished grinding, we're going to lean back and lift up the nose of the skateboard so that we can slide out smoothly and land onto the concrete.
Bend your knees and roll away. For a frontside 50-50, we can't be going to slow, or else we'll get stuck on the ledge and go flying. We have to have good speed and make sure the ledge is waxed.
