Do Zig Zag Nail Art
Edited by Kara, Leomar Umpad, Eng
Hi, you're watching VisiHow. My name is Kara and in this video I will show you how to make a zig zag design on your nails using matching color nail polish. I'm using dark blue, sort of navy, color and a lighter blue and sea color match nail polish that has no gloss and no glitters. Let's get started. Also, I will need a needle to do the design.
Steps
1
What I'm doing here is I will be working at one finger at a time, like this
.
Let's start with the wider finger nails. I am applying the nail polish on just half of my finger nail.
2
Right there, I'm going for a second layer
.
3
Before it dries off, I'm putting the blue nail polish - the navy one
.
Also, the layer can be thick. It's good, actually, if it's thick.
4
Before it dries, I need to put just a couple of drops on the opposite side
.
One and two!
5
Then, just one drop on the other side
.
Like that!
6
Now, I'm taking the needle, pulling the line from here - like this
.
7
Wipe the needle off and do it one more time
.
One - two - and three. There is now a complicated picture here. Abstract, if I would say, but it looks good.
8
Do the same technique on the next finger
.
We could go and try more drops for a more complicated design. Do the second layer.
9
Drop some stripe and go with three drops
.
One - two - and three.
10
Let's go and make three drops on this side
.
One - two - and three.
11
Connect, again, with the needle
.
Interesting, this side here looks like a little hear. I actually can do little hearts using this technique.
12
With this one, we could do hearts. This is called the zigzag technique because of the way you pull the needle as zigzag shape.
13
And this side, one and two
.
Drop on the opposite side - one and two.
14
Let's draw the zigzag this time
:
one - two - and three. Then again, one - two - and three.
15
We forgot our small finger
.
The other way you can do this technique is without putting any dot. Let me show you on this example - on this nail. You just paint your nail half-in-half.
16
Then you just do this - one, two
.
So it, kind of, half-in-half. I think, a better way to show it is one the thumb because it's bigger.
17
This one already dried off
.
This, other, one is semi-dry. Like I said on my previous videos where I used matte nail lacquers - the way you can see that it's dry is that it stops being shiny and stops being glossy.
18
Like this one, it's glossy and reflects the light so you can tell that it's wet still while the other finger is absolutely dry
.
19
Let's go and move towards the thumb
.
I can get some color here and go from this - just a zigzag. This is what you get when you do not apply any dots.
20
This is, sort of design, what you get when you do put dots on the opposite sides
.
21
You just watched me applying a zigzag in different ways - creating semi-hearts here, doing abstract pictures, and doing actual zigzag-like color invasion
.
