Do Varial Kick Flips
Edited by Spencer Fitzgerald, priya, Eng
Hi, welcome to VisiHow. Today we're going to be teaching you how to do a varial kickflip. A varial kickflip is a backside pop shove it and a kickflip put together. So, once you know those two tricks, you're going to be able to learn the varial kickflip.
To begin, the foot positioning for the front foot in a varial kickflip is the same as a kickflip, but a little bit back further.
The back foot is on the tail, just as we would for a pop shove it. Let's get comfortable in our pop shove it stance.
Now, we want to pop the board, and scoop for the pop shove it.
As we're scooping, we're going to take our front foot, slide it up the board and off the side to flip the kickflip. So, the board spins 180 degrees, and flips like a kickflip at the same time.
While that's happening, jump forward to catch the board, and stop it from flipping. So, altogether, we're going to pop, and when we pop, scoop our pop shove it across the ground. At the exact same time, we're going to slide our front foot up to get the kickflip. So, we're going to pop, scoop, and flick so that the boards spins 180 degrees and does a kickflip at the exact same time.
Let's practice by getting the spin. Just practice the pop shove and kickflip motions.
Again, we want to set up our front foot as we would for a kickflip, just back a little bit farther.
Our back foot will be on the tail as we would for a pop shove it.
So, we want to pop, and scoop like a pop shove it.
As we're doing that, we're going to take our front foot and flick off the side.
So, the board is spinning 180 degrees and flipping at the exact same time.
Next, we want to jump forward, and with our front foot, catch it like we would a pop shove.
Then, we'll land on top of it and keep rolling.
