Hi you're watching the beauty department of VisiHow. My name is Kara and in this video I will show you how to design your finger nails using a kitchen sponge. It is a regular kitchen sponge that I will need to cut a little piece from, just a tiny piece. We are going to be using this little one. Now lets take another one just in case.

    So lets start

    I would like to work on the contrast. This is one of my favorite things to do. I'm going to use the dark burgundy color nail polish and shiny golden nail polish as well.

    One of the beauty tips for you, when you wear this colorful nail polish it becomes especially noticeable if you accent it with the same color lipstick
    .
    It has to be toned to tone thing. It's all about the design today. The burgundy lipstick and burgundy nails will sort of highlight each other. This is what I am going to do today. You can see the dark lip makeup, where I used the burgundy lips stick and matching tones to this finger nails. So you could watch it on VisiHow as well. So I think I'm going to wear it again because I just want it to be the nicest colors to go with our fingernails and lips.

    You can put the polish on top, but with this design because we will be using a shiny and rough texture it doesn't really matter if you mess up the end of your nail
    .
    We just need to have a thick base color.

    If you can see the difference how much darker are the fingers where you applied the second layer

    The thumb is kind of light. So we will finish the thumb too.

    I need it to be a little dry, so lets check just on the end of the nails here. Sort of dry, but still a little sticky.

    What I'm going to do is draw a line with this on the end of the finger just like you would if you were doing a french style design.

    Don't, be afraid to use more. It doesn't need to be just for the grown part.

    Let's make sure it dries
    .
    You can see that the burgundy part is dry, but still sticky, so we need to wait till it dries off or we might mess up the whole thing. If you want the process to be faster, you should probably be using the nail polish that dries really fast.

    So for this I will need a napkin, actually lets use 2 napkins make a thicker layer

    Like this. You can see the nails better with the contrasting white colors.

    So what I'm doing next is, this is where I am going to be using the sponges
    .
    I need to apply some of the golden polish at the very end of the sponge. Make sure it goes on. Approximately it should be the width of your fingernail, Because we will be covering the finger nail with it.

    You need to cover up the line, the border line of the golden and burgundy and apply less and less when it comes towards the beginning of your finger nail

    Just cover up the growth line, I mean the border line, and just do a little like this.

    Let's do the same thing for the thumb
    .
    I will need a little more nail polish on the sponge. It's soaking in and drying off and applying, to the finger nails. Every one or two times you might want to reapply it on your sponge. And the last one. Cover up the line.
