Display the Weather on an iPhone Lock Screen in iOS 12
Edited by Jay
Although the primary focus of iOS 12 was stability and overall performance, it also included a neat hidden feature; weather updates on the lock screen. If you use Do Not Disturb mode on your iPhone or iPad, you're only a few steps away from setting your lock screen to display the weather every morning (or evening) when you wake up. Using Location Services and the Weather app, your device will greet you every morning with a brief forecast.
For the following VisiHow tutorial, we used an iPhone 7 running iOS 12.1.4.

Tips, Tricks, and Warnings
- When Locations services are running for long periods, it will drain your device's battery quicker. Ensure your phone or tablet is connected to power (charging) overnight or during Quiet Hours when using lock screen weather feature.
- To turn the weather off on your lock screen, change the Weather app's location access permissions to either Never or While Using the App (Step #9).
