Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to delete a message or file in a WhatsApp chat on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the WhatsApp application

   .

   There is a WhatsApp icon, which is a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside, and underneath it says "WhatsApp". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.

   We now need to find the chat we want to delete a message from, then press down on it

   To delete a message or file, we press down on the message we want to delete and hold until we feel a small vibration

   We will then see that the message is highlighted in blue and there's a bar at the top of the screen. This works the same way for written messages, photos, or any other kind of message in our chat.

   Tap on the white trash bin icon

   It will then ask us if we want to delete this message. We can cancel it or delete it.

   We can also choose if we want to delete the media from the phone

   We can delete the media from the application and keep it on the phone by pressing down on the box until the check mark is gone.

   If we want to delete the media from the phone, we should press down on the box until the check mark is inside
