Steps

    To begin, we should have Photoshop opened
    .
    This can be seen at the bottom by the blue icon with the letters "PS".

    Once Photoshop is opened, we can either create a new document or open an existing one
    .
    There are VisiHow videos on how to do that. Once we open or create a document, the screen will look similar to the one in the tutorial. We can see that we have just one document opened, which is indicated by one tab at the left-hand side. If we have more than one document opened, then the documents will be listed at the tab section from left to right.

    Come to the layer options at the right-hand side
    .
    In this video, we have three layers.

    If we hide the top layer, we can see that the layer underneath is exactly the same
    .
    Maybe we don't want to keep it.

    We can see that even though the top layer is hidden, we can still click it to see it highlighted in the layer window
    .
    We have to be careful when we are doing this lest we delete the wrong layer.

    For now, we make the top layer visible
    .
    The image will not look any different because the layer is identical.

    We can click the "Delete Layer" icon in the very bottom right-hand corner
    .
    The icon is a dust bin. If we click it once, Photoshop will double-check with us if we want to delete the layer.

    We can click "No" if we want to keep the layer

    We can specify "Don't show again" if we don't want Photoshop to double-check with us in the future

    Another way to delete a layer is clicking the layer so that it is highlighted in blue
    .
    Then, we just press "Delete" on our keyboard. Photoshop will not double-check with us. We will see the layer completely gone without any warning.
