Steps

    If we open the File Explorer, we'll see our disk. The location of the VHD file is on Disk (D:).

    If we try to delete it by clicking "Delete" and then "Yes", the system will tell us that the action can't be completed because the file is open in System.

    We need to right-click in the lower left corner of the screen and click "Disk Management". Wait for it to load.

    When it loads, scroll down and find the disk to delete.

    Right-click on the left side of the list and click "Detach VHD".
