Delete Old Messages in Gmail

You're watching VisiHow. In this video, I'm going to show how to search for and delete all messages before a certain year using Gmail.
To do this, let's go to the search window at the top of the screen and type in "before:", and the date we want to search before.
In this particular instance, we'll use "1/1/2007". This will show us all messages that happened before this date. It will show us messages from 2006.
To delete all of these, I can select all of them by clicking on this checkbox. It will allow us to select the first 50 messages.
If we want to select all of the messages that match this criteria, we can just click on "Select all conversations that match this search."
Once they have all been selected, press the "Delete" icon to delete all of these messages before 2007. I am not going to do that for the demonstration, but if you want to, you can.
That is how to search for all messages before a certain date, and delete all of them. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the space below. Thanks for watching VisiHow.
