You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to delete an object in Adobe Illustrator CS6 in Windows 7.
You should open Illustrator and a document. For instructions on how to do this, please view our other Adobe Illustrator tutorials. Within the document, there are three objects. There is the background, which is the blue rectangle, a circle, and a yellow rectangle.
You should click the "Selection Tool" black arrow in the vertical toolbar. It is on the left side of the screen.
Then, click the object that you want to delete from the document. Once the object is selected, you will see a blue frame with corners around it. The corners are represented as white squares. This means the object is selected and ready to be edited.
When the object is selected, you can simply press the "Delete" key on the keyboard.
You can get the object back clicking "Edit" in the top-left corner of the window.
Tap the first option in the drop-down menu, "Undo Clear". Alternatively, press "Ctrl" + "Z" on the keyboard to complete this step.
