Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to delete files on a Windows 8 computer.
Steps
1
The first thing that we're going to do is create a file to delete for the sake of the tutorial
.
We're going to do this by right-clicking on an empty space, hovering over "New" and clicking "Text Document". To delete this, we have several options.
2
One of them is to right-click on the file and click "Delete"
.
3
Another way to delete it is to drag it and drop it on the Recycle Bin
.
4
Another way to delete the file is to select the file and hit "Delete" on the keyboard
.
5
A prompt will ask "Are you sure you want to move this file to the Recycle Bin?"; click "Yes"
.
It will be deleted. There is also a way to delete a file without moving it to the Recycle Bin.
6
Select the file, then hit "Shift" and "Delete" on the keyboard
.
7
A prompt will ask "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this file?"; click "Yes"
.
It no longer asks us if we want to move it to the Recycle Bin, it tells us that it's going to be permanently deleted.
8
This concludes the tutorial on how to delete files on a Windows 8 computer
.
