I would like to thank Arielle Mermaid for the awesome video on How to DIY Heat Protectants. I organized it into a wiki for anyone with a hearing impairment, or for those who just prefer to read the steps. Hope you enjoy it. :)

Steps

    Hi, guys, and welcome back to my channel. Today I'll be talking to you about DIY natural Heat protectants for your hair, and these are all going to be natural oils. That way they will be moisturizing to your hair instead of damaging like other chemicals would be. What you will need is an oil of your choice, which I will be talking to you guys about my list right now.

    A spray bottle, and some water, that's basically all you need.

    The first oil that I have here is Grapeseed oil.

    Next one is Argan oil, which is what I personally use.

    Argan oil is considered a dry oil. This means that it won't make your hair oily when you apply it but obviously, with any oil if you apply too much then your hair will become greasy. So just use it in moderation.

    The next is Coconut Oil.

    Avocado Oil.

    Shea Butter.

    Sunflower Oil.

    Macadamia Nut Oil.

    Those are the ones that I have personally researched. If you have any other suggestions let me know.

    Take your spray bottle and fill it up with water almost to the top.

    Add 4 to 6 drops of oil of your choice, and just mix that up.

    That's what you can use as a spray to keep your hair moisturized and protected.

    Some of the oils have a high burning temperature and some of them have UV protection. Most importantly is that all of them have moisturizing properties. So that your hair will stay moisturized instead of dried out and damaged from the heat.
