Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to customize the violence filter in the Kid Mode application on an HTC One M8.

Steps

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, you'll see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

Once the phone has been unlocked, you'll see the home screen and some icons at the bottom.

What we need to do is find the Settings menu, and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down

To do that, start right at the top of the screen and swipe downwards.

The Notification panel has appeared, and we're looking for the white cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

This is our "Settings" icon. Press down on it, and it will open up our "Settings" menu. It will say "Settings" at the top of the screen.

Scroll down to the "PERSONAL" section
.
It says the word "PERSONAL" in the gray bar. We're looking for the "Security" option, and next to the word there is an icon of a padlock. Press down on this option, and it will open up our "Security" menu.

We want the second option from the top, it says "Kid Mode - Give a child limited access to your phone"

Press down on this option, and it will open up a menu.

We want the first option right at the top

It says "Parent Dashboard - Add profiles and access all features". Press down on that option, and it will open up our parent dashboard.

Let's scroll down almost to the bottom
.
We're looking for the "Violence Filter" option, and next to it, there's an icon of a "POW", like a classic Batman "POW". Press down on this option, and we can edit the violence filter.

It says here
:
"Ash is only able to play with games that have a violence rating of 4 or less". What this means is that we can totally decide what kind of games our child plays and how violent they are. Here is the scale; it goes from "0" to "5".

Below the scale, we have the guidelines for the scale
.
For "5", it says: "Real life simulated violence. No games at this level are included". It doesn't;t really go up to "5". It is there, but no games at this level are included in this application, so we don't need to worry about that. Level "0" is no violence. If we want our children to play games with no violence, we can press down on the scale until the blue circle is underneath the number "0". That means the child can only play games that have a "0" violence rating.

The other options are "1", which is "Some aggressive actions, Ex
:
Getting booed for the wrong answer". They go up to number "4", "Cartoon simulated violence. Ex: Matching clues to capture bandits". We can choose whichever one of these ratings or levels that we want, based on this information. Once we're happy with our choice, we're going to select "4", then press down on the "Save" icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
