Customize HTC One M8 Storage Settings
Edited by Thor, Crystal, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to customize the storage settings on the HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone is activated we will see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen and at the bottom we will see 5 icons.
3
We need to find the settings menu and to do that, we can swipe the notification panel down
.
To do that, press and hold at the top of the phone, then swipe down. The notification panel will appear.
4
We are looking for the gear icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
This is our settings icon. Press down on it to open up the settings menu. It will say "Settings" in the top left-hand corner of the screen.
5
We need to scroll down until we get to the "PHONE" section, then tap on "Storage"
.
It has a USB stick icon next to it.
6
Scroll down to the bottom, the final option, "Storage settings" in the "OTHER" section
.
We want to demonstrate how to customize the storage settings. The reason we would want to do this is because it allows us to choose where we store the particular options.
7
We can see the options are "Voice Recorder", "Messages", "Bluetooth", "Internet" and "Camera"
.
What this section allows us to do is to choose where we store the data for these applications. It allows us to edit the choices and choose exactly where to store it. If we have too much information on the SD card or not enough memory on the phone memory, we can choose where to send the data to manage the space better.
8
If we tap on "Update all" at the top it will bring up our two options
.
9
We can tap on "Phone storage" or "SD card storage"
.
This will change all of the options to either phone storage or SD card storage. This is a quick way to change all of the options at once.
10
If we want to change them individually, we can tap on one
.
For example, we can see "Messages" and underneath of it, it says "Phone storage". If we press down on messages we will see a green circle next to "Phone storage". It is the current choice. Tap on "SD card storage" to change it.
11
The option has now been changed
.
This helps us manage the space better and allows us more control over where we store our information. All of the options are the same, so follow the same steps for all of these options and make the choices that are best for you.
12
This concludes the tutorial on how to customize the storage settings on an HTC One M8
.
