Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to customize the Play Newsstand application on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe up

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons.

   It is one of these icons that we now need, to open up the Applications folder

   .

   To do that, we need this icon at the bottom of the home screen, in the middle. It looks like a grid, made up of white dots. Press down on this icon to open up our Applications folder.

   In this folder, we need to find the Play Newsstand application

   .

   Mine is located here, where we see an icon of a blue piece of paper. Underneath, it says the words, "Play Newsstand". Our Play Newsstand icons may be in different positions within this folder. Therefore, we will need to find it, and then press down on the icon to enter the application. Once we are in the application, we need to be sure that we are in the right section.

   Press the three white lines in the top left-hand corner of the screen

   Check that we are in the "Read now" section, in this slide out menu

   Then make sure that we are in the "HIGHLIGHTS" section

   .

   If we aren't in this section, tap on the icon that looks like three white vertical lines and select "Read now". Then, swipe left and right until we find this section. There is an information panel underneath that says, "Welcome to Newsstand: Tell us about your favorite topics and news sources to get more of the stories that you like to read."

   Press down on the word "CUSTOMIZE"

   Here, we can select some topics

   .

   It will ask us, "What topics do you like to read about?" We will see many options with checks inside. This shows that they are selected. If we scroll lower, there are more options without check marks inside of them.

    If we want to select any of them, just press down on them

    Let's press down on "Art". It will put a check mark inside.

    If we want to deselect this option, press down on the icon again

    The check mark is gone. Press down on all of the options that we are interested in.

    Once we have selected these options, we are going to press down on the word "NEXT >" in the blue bar at the bottom of the screen

    Press down on it and it will ask us a new question.

    Here, we can select some sources for news

    It says, "What news sources do we like to read?" There is a list of individual news sources that we can select from. If we want to add any of these news sources, press down on the blue plus sign inside of a circle.

    If we press down on this icon, it will change to a white check mark inside of a blue circle

    This means we have selected it. Select all of the different news sources that we want.

    When we are finished, press the word "DONE", in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen

    It will say, "Personalizing..." while it's personalizing our Newsstand application, based on the choices we have just made.
