    In order to customize the briefing screen, the phone needs to be unlocked

    You should be on the home screen.

    Then, simply swipe once to the right

    You can simply enable or disable notifications by tapping the "Notifications" trigger

    Additionally, you can enable or disable topics

    You must always have at least three topics checked. Tap on any space on the topic other than where it reads "MORE", and you'll be able to disable the topic. We're just going to disable all topics below the first three.

    When you're satisfied with the changes, you can tap on the "Settings" back arrow button

    This will take you back to the news panel. Do note that it takes a long time for the changes to update. There is no clear time or setting where you'll know how long it takes. Sometimes, it updates instantly; sometimes, it takes 5-10 minutes to update the changes.
