Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to crop and rotate a photo in the Photos application on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen.
2
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and swipe up
.
Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the home screen. At the bottom, there will be icons. It is one of these icons that we need to access.
3
We need to open up the Applications folder
.
To do that, we need to press the icon at the bottom of the home screen, in the middle. It looks like a grid of white dots. When we press on this icon, it will open up the Applications folder.
4
In this folder, we need to find the Photos application
.
It is located here. There is an icon of a windmill shape, made up of different colors. Underneath, there is the word "Photos". Our Photos application may be in different positions within this folder. We'll need to find it, and then press down on the icon to enter the application.
5
Now that we have entered the Photos application, we are going to choose a photo
.
In this tutorial, we are learning how to crop and rotate a photo. To choose a photo, press down on it. This will allow us to enter the individual photo.
6
We now need the icon that looks like a white pencil
.
Press down on it. It will open up some more options for us.
7
We want the option that looks like a white square, with the sides overlapping
.
Press down on that icon.
8
We will now crop the photo
.
There is a frame here; the corners are highlighted in white. If we press down on the corner and hold down, we can swipe in and out to make the frame larger or smaller. We can create different sized areas, and crop as much as we'd like.
9
We can also move the photo around
.
The frame will stay in the same position, but we can move the photo around. Press down on the screen and move our finger around. We will see that the photo is moving, and the frame is staying in the same position. If we let go, we will see that the photo has been cropped.
10
To rotate the photo, we can tap the icon on the lower right side of the screen
.
It looks like an arrow curving around a shape. Press down on this icon and the photo will rotate. We can rotate it to the position we want.
11
We can also use this icon in the middle of the screen to rotate it manually
.
We can see the scale here, it says, '0'. On top, there is a small blue arrow. If we press down on this arrow, we can rotate it manually. We are going to leave it at '0'.
12
Once we're happy with our cropping and rotating, then press down on this white check mark, located on the lower right portion of the screen
.
That's going to take us to a section where we can save our new photo.
13
To save our photo, Press down on the word "SAVE" in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
.
It will say "Saved" inside of a gray bar.
14
We can go back by pressing the back arrow in the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
15
We can see that the photo that we have saved is located here
.
16
This then, concludes our tutorial on how to crop and rotate a photo in the Photos application on an HTC One M8
.
