Create an Ombre Design On Your Nails
Edited by Kara, Vanessa, Dougie, Jen M and 1 other
Hi, you're watching VisiHow. My name is Kara and in this video I will show you how to do the wine and red color ombre style for your fingernails. For that, I will need the wine color nail polish, the lighter red color one, and the needle. Just a needle that will help us to do the design.
Steps
1
Make sure you have some q-tips next to you, and a nail polish remover just as an emergency if you mess up.
2
So, I'm going to start with the lighter color and cover, make the first thin layer on my nails
.
This is new nail polish, so it lays on my nails nice. It's not thick; it's perfect.
3
So it's a slightly pink undertone, but that's good when you work with different when you want to make ombre you do want to show the graduation from one tone to another tone.
4
Just keep in mind that this does not have to be in red tones
.
You can use any color. It can be green and blue, it can be blue and yellow, or orange and black - any colors. Just make sure you follow up with the technique.
5
Oh, I messed up again on the side
.
Let's get our emergency stick. I use a cuticle remover for that. Very helpful. If the nail polish is fresh and if you do it fast you don't need to wipe it off with nail polish remover after.
6
I'm using a cutting board by the way. Just because it's easier for me because it's higher than the table.
7
So, I did the first layer
.
Let's wait until it dries off. You can blow on it if you want to. (Blows).
8
9
So, the next thing we do - the most important part of this ombre technique - is that you have to work fast
.
We will be doing it with one finger at a time. I need to have both of my nail polishes ready and the needle ready to go.
10
So what I do is, I'm taking the lighter polish again, and I will apply it just on the half of the nail very carefully
.
Exactly the half, maybe a little more but it's okay.
11
And the darker one is going to go on the edge like this
.
12
So next thing I'm doing, I'm taking my needle, and I'm going to mix up like this
.
Two colors get mixed up.
13
This is a nice design for some costume parties
.
Let's wipe this off so that it doesn't dry off, and we want to have a sharp needle so make sure you remove the nail polish right after you use it.
14
So, let's do the next one
.
Just the middle, up to the half. If you apply too much nail polish, it's okay, but it will take you a longer time to dry it off as well.
15
16
Okay, so let's get the needle and just like this
.
17
18
Just the half. Just like this.
19
And the darker wine color
.
20
It's a vamp style design
.
It will go well with the lipstick of wine color. Let's wipe this off with the needle. Not wipe, just stir it.
21
Get the darker color into the lighter color and that's perfect. I think this looks quite cool.
22
And again you should be making a zig-zag motion back and forth, back and forth
.
23
24
My favorite because the thumb is big, and it's easier to do the designs.
25
26
Don't be afraid to experiment
.
If you put too much, this is one you do. Get rid of the rest of the nail polish on the brush, and you take it back.
27
28
You don't have to use needles. You can use a used pen. Use a gel pen because it has a thinner end.
29
But I prefer to use a needle
.
So, the design is done, put this way. Don't forget to close the nail polish after you're finished. Put it away. And put this away.
30
So it's done, so you wait until it dries off
.
31
So you just watched me making a red and wine ombre nail design for my fingers, for my finger nails
.
