To begin, unlock your phone by pressing the round button at the bottom of the screen

Alternatively, press the 'Lock' button on the right-hand side of the phone

Swipe to the right to enter your passcode
.
As an alternative to entering your passcode, put your finger on the 'Home' button to use the fingerprint scanner.

Find the 'YouTube' icon on the 'Home screen'
.
In this example, the 'Home screen' is customized and might look a bit different. The icon is red framed with a triangle inside of a white square that looks like a TV screen. Tap it once to open the application.

Now we will scroll through the list of videos and choose one we're interested, or tap on the magnifying glass icon in the top-right corner of the screen to search for a video

Tap on a video to play it

In this example, we will tap on a music video. As we can see it opens and plays automatically.

Pause the video by tapping the center of the screen

This will bring up many options around the border of the video.

Tap on the translucent gray'+' icon at the top of the screen

It is the first of four options at the top. This will open up a list of options.

Tap on the 'Add to Playlist' button with the horizontal gray lines to add the video to a previously created playlist

Alternatively, we can create a new playlist by tapping on the 'Create New Playlist' button, which has a small gray '+' icon next to it

Type in the name of the playlist we are creating

Make the playlist private by tapping on the 'Private' button or public by tapping on the 'Public' button, which will be indicated by the check mark

This will disable anybody from seeing the playlist on your YouTube profile/channel.

To go back without saving the playlist, tap on the gray cross in the top-left corner of the screen

To save the playlist, tap on the blue check mark in the top-right corner of the screen

This will automatically add the video to the playlist and notify you on the gray bar at the bottom of the screen.

Tap and drag the video down to minimize it
