Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to create a new broadcast in WhatsApp on an HTC One M8.

Steps

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone
.
Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the WhatsApp application
.
There is a WhatsApp icon, which is a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside, and underneath it says "WhatsApp". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.

We now need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

There are three small white dots in a vertical line.

Tap "New broadcast"
.
It will then ask us to add recipients.

We can do that by typing their name or tapping on the plus sign

We're going to tap on the plus sign. This will open up our contacts list with all of our contacts.

Tap on the box to the right of the wanted contact(s)

We can select multiple contacts. The box will then be green with a white check mark.

To unselect a contact, press down on a box until it's empty

Once we've selected the recipients that we want, we press down on "DONE" in the top right-hand corner of the screen

It will say "IMPORTANT: Only contacts with (phone number) in their address book will receive your broadcast messages" at the bottom.

Press down on the word "CREATE" in the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
We have successfully created a broadcast. A broadcast is a little different than a group because it's more for broadcasting information to people. We may find that people use these for work groups or any other kind of team as a way to broadcast information.
