Create a Table in Word 2010 with Hotkeys
Edited by Thor, Jen M, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, I'm going to show you how to create a table in Microsoft Word 2010 using hotkey commands.
Steps
1
So the first thing we're going to do in order to create the table, is we need to press 'Shift', the 'Plus' sign, and 'Tab'
.
And I can make the table as big as I need if I keep pressing 'Tab' and 'Plus' to make the table.
2
And then we'll press 'Enter'
.
As you can see, I've made a table.
3
If I want to increase the size, create more rows, I'm going to use 'Tab' to move to the end
.
When I get to the end, I press 'Tab' again and I can create another row.
4
If I want to delete a row, I'm going to press 'Shift' and use the directional buttons to highlight this row, then press 'Backspace'
.
5
Here, it gives me options of what I would like to do
.
Select 'Delete the entire row' with the arrow key, and press 'Enter'. And as you can see, the row has been deleted.
6
I can move back to the table with the directional buttons, and if I have other things I need to do I can just right click on the box I would like to work in
.
7
Here is the 'Insert' button, if I would like to insert some cells or split the cells
.
I want to create two columns, so I'm going to click OK.
8
So, here you can see I've split the cell into two boxes
.
And I can now add data to both sections using the arrow keys to scroll through.
9
If I want to get out of this, I can move down and press 'Enter'
.
10
Now I'm going to show you some other things you can do
.
I can press 'Shift' and 'Plus' again, then press 'Tab'. And if I want bigger boxes, I just keep pressing 'Tab'.
11
So I'm going to do two 'Tab' spaces
.
Press 'Plus', then press 'Tab' twice, press 'Plus', press 'Tab' twice, and so on. Then press 'Enter'. Now you can see I've made a bigger table with more space.
12
The same principles apply
.
Press 'Tab' to create more rows, and press 'Shift' and 'Tab' to scroll through the cells.
13
So, this has been a video on how to insert a table quickly using the hotkey commands in Microsoft Word 2010
.
