Edited by Thor, Colette Cole, Dougie, Jen M and 1 other
Welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to create a story using the Lumia Storyteller application on the Microsoft Lumia 535.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button, which is located on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Then we are going to swipe up
.
3
We will then press the Lumia Storyteller tile
.
4
If yours is not located on the home screen, then it will be located in the app menu
.
So swipe across to the left to find it.
5
You will find yours, press it, then enter it
.
6
Now we want to make a story
.
This is going to be quite a nice story, with sound effects and some nice visual images.
7
We have the option to choose something that's grouped together
.
It can be grouped by month or by location.
8
It will need to have more than 1 photo grouped together
.
You can't just have 1 photo. It will show us the photo, but it will not allow us to do anything.
9
What we need to do is choose something like this group at the top left-hand corner, which is a pre-existing folder
.
10
The other option is to merge photos
.
To merge photos, we need to make sure that this button on the lower bottom, in the center gray strip, is not expanded.
11
This button expands the folders so they all show their photos
.
We don't want that. We need the photos to existing within their folders.
12
We then have the option to press this button on the same gray strip at the bottom which shows the three lines
.
13
When this button is pressed, you can see that all the photos are highlighted and we have the option to merge them by pressing on the photos we would like to merge
.
14
Even though they may be from different locations, we can still merge them
.
Later we can just split the story and the photos will go back to their original location. Once we've selected the photos we want, press this button here, which is the left button on the gray strip on the bottom that resembles two photos, one slightly above the other.
15
Now they will merge into one folder
.
You can see at the top there are 13 photos that have all merged into one folder.
16
Now press the tile for the merged photos
.
Now we see our photos.
17
If we press on 1 photo, we will bring it up, and we can zoom in on it by double tapping it
.
18
As you see here we have the edit button at the bottom. It is the icon that resembles a pencil in the second row from the bottom.
19
When you press the edit button you will see that you have the opportunity to edit it
.
20
We can also watch a preview
.
21
We can also see a map of where these photos were taken
.
22
We can also publish our photos
.
This application allows us to publish the finished stories on to a website, which is the Microsoft Lumia Storyteller website, where people can view them. You do this by pressing the publish button, which is the button at the lower right-hand side on the gray strip. It's the button that has the "up" arrow in a circle. You can make the story private, where only people who are given the URL can watch it, or you can make it public which would make it available for anyone to watch. That would be up to you.
23
What we are going to do now is watch our story
.
We can do this by swiping to the left. To the preview screen.
24
I will press the play button at the center of the preview screen
.
25
I'm going to tilt the screen so you can enjoy this experience as well
.
26
You will see that the photos are transitioning nicely while music is playing
.
27
There are various ways the photos are transitioning
.
28
Now we have seen our story play
.
We are at the conclusion now.
29
We have the ability to edit this
.
You can press the edit button from this screen as well. It is located at the top right-hand side.
30
When you press that button you can edit the story
.
You can change content, change music or randomize it.
31
I will press the "change music" button
.
Here you will see the different music options.
32
We can go back, where we will have the option to change content
.
33
You can see that we can change the order by selecting a photo, pressing changing its order, then deselecting it and pressing it again
.
It is going to be repositioned.
34
We also have the option to share
.
We can share it by pressing the share button, which is the button on the right-hand side. That looks like an envelope in motion.
35
We can also save it as well by pressing the button that resembles a computer disk on the right-hand side
.
36
If we press the share button, we can press the button and watch the video while it is saving
.
37
It is saving the video for sharing
.
When that has completed, we will be able to publish it. You can share this video by email, Facebook or other social media, or via a message. You can also edit it in a way that makes you happy.
38
Now that it has saved the video, it's going to bring up the sharing options
.
These are the standard options. If you have different applications installed on your phone, you will have those options displayed as well.
39
I'm going to rotate the phone back to its previous position so you can see what is happening
.
40
You can see the story was successfully saved
.
41
So we can watch it or watch our previous stories as well
.
42
If we press the share button at the bottom, it will allow us to publish the story to the lumiastoryteller.com website
.
43
We have the option to make it private or public, as I spoke about earlier
.
44
Then you are going to press "continue" and you can publish this
.
45
If you want to separate the story and place the pictures back in their original positions, you can press the menu button located at the bottom of the screen
.
46
Press that button, and then press "split story"
.
47
That is going to send all of the photos back to their original position
.
48
This concludes our tutorial on how to create a story using the Microsoft Lumia Storyteller application when using a Microsoft Lumia 535
.
