Samsung KNOX allows you to create a separate mobile system on your Galaxy Note3 that is independent of your phone's default system. The separate system is secured so that it will not share any data with your default Note3's system and applications. It has its own home screen, applications and widgets. How to install KNOX on Samsung Galaxy Note3

The following procedures will allow you to install and set up KNOX on your Galaxy Note3:

    Go to your Note3's home screen

    You can press on the Home button (lower-middle hard button) once and your device will go back to the home screen. You can also tap on the Back key (lower-right soft key) a few times to get to the home screen.

    The Apps icon is located on the lower-right part of your Note3's screen. It will take you to the screen where all the applications listed on your Note3 are shown.

    KNOX has an icon similar to a yellow shield with a keyhole on it. Tap on this icon to open the KNOX application.

    You will be taken to the information page for KNOX. Read through it to have an idea about KNOX and tap on the "Install" button to proceed.

    Agree with the terms and conditions and privacy policy

    Tap on the check box beside the word Agree below the Terms and conditions, and Privacy policy. You can opt to agree or not with the Optional Information. You can also tap on the I accept all the terms check box to put a check mark on all the options. Tap on the Confirm button when you are done to proceed to the next screen.

    Wait for KNOX to download and install

    KNOX will automatically download and install once you tap on the "Confirm" button. Make sure that you have a working and stable internet connection. The download may take several minutes. After download, the application will automatically install on your Galaxy Note3.

    Tap on Password timeout

    After the installation, tap on Password timeout to choose the length of inactivity before KNOX locks itself. Once locked, KNOX will require you to re-enter the pre-defined password before you can use it again.

How to use KNOX on Samsung Galaxy Note3

You can use KNOX for security purposes. If you want to open an email or make a call and you do not want it to log into your personal phone, then the KNOX environment could be the thing that you need. The following procedures will orient you on how to use KNOX on your Galaxy Note3:

    By default, your KNOX application screen will show you the Apps list. This is where all the installed KNOX applications are displayed. Initially, your KNOX Home screen will show the pre-installed applications. You can also tap on the Widgets tab to view the widgets on your KNOX container.

    Tap on any application to open it on the KNOX container

    Applications opened on the KNOX container are exclusive to KNOX. They work independently with the applications on your default Note3 system. So you can open your Gmail account using the internet application on your default system, and open another Gmail account using the internet application on your KNOX container. Logs, contacts and calendar data are also separate from each of the systems (KNOX and main).

    The personal home icon has the icon of a house with a letter "S" on it. It is found on your KNOX application list. Take note that you should not press the physical Home button, as pressing it will take you to the main home screen.

      From the list of available KNOX home screen menu options, tap on KNOX Settings to get to the settings page where you can modify current KNOX settings. The following settings are:  
      1. Password Timeout. Allows you to adjust the time for your phone to stay inactive before KNOX will require you to add password when you want to use KNOX again.
      2. Change password. Allows you to change your KNOX password.
      3. Quick mode change. Allows you to add a shortcut of KNOX to the notification panel.
      4. Show KNOX contacts. Allows you to show the contacts on KNOX to the contacts on your main system. If you put a check mark on this option, the contacts, logs, and messages saved on KNOX will also appear on your main system.
      5. About KNOX. Allows you to view important information about KNOX. Here, you can also recheck Terms and conditions and Open source license, or get to uninstall KNOX if ever you do think that there is a need to.

    How to Uninstall and Back up KNOX on Samsung Galaxy Note3

    Unlike most applications, you cannot normally uninstall KNOX. As, by essence, KNOX is completely separate from your device, it does not allow you to uninstall itself like any other applications do. You need to uninstall KNOX right from its environment. Follow the procedures below to uninstall KNOX on your Samsung Galaxy Note3:

      When you initiate on uninstalling KNOX, your device will ask if you want to back up data for KNOX. Tap on Back up and your photos, media files, calendars and contacts will be backed up during the uninstallation process.

    I forgot my password for Samsung KNOX. How do I set another one?

    I don't know where I can reset the password. Can you help me?

    There is only one way to reset a Samsung KNOX password, and that is through the Samsung KNOX password reset tool. Simply click the link, and you will be taken to the Samsung site, where you can enter in the email address associated with your Samsung KNOX account. Once you do that, click the blue E-mail new password button, and further instructions will be emailed to the associated account from Samsung. This will let you reset your password, and regain access to your KNOX account.
