Create a Presentation from a Template in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013
Edited by Colette Cole, Crystal, Eng
Hi there and welcome to VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to create a presentation from a template in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013.
Steps
1
The first thing that we want to do is open the application
.
We'll see the landing page with a section on the left that shows us the most recent things that we've opened. We also have the option to open other Office presentations. On the right side of the screen, we can select a blank presentation, as well as see the different templates available.
2
We can also search by clicking on a suggested search at the top
.
We'll click on "Orientation". It's going to search the internet and show us the different template ideas that are available for us to use.
3
We can scroll up and down on the right-hand side to see all of the categories
.
4
Click on the chosen template
.
It will show us a description and some images.
5
Click on the arrows to see more photos
.
It will give us an idea of what the presentation will look like.
6
If we decide that this is the template we want to use, we can click on "Create"
.
7
It will download and then open the template
.
8
We will then see the free template that we can use by changing the information
.
9
For example, it says "Welcome!" with "Your Company Name and Logo" underneath, so we can click on that to change it
.
10
We'll put "Colette's Company" for tutorial purposes. We can also add pictures and clipart. We can treat it the same way we would treat a blank presentation, however, this makes it easier because we only need to change the text.
11
For example, this page shows us a chart and we can go in and change the information instead of putting a chart together piece by piece
.
12
We can also remove slides by right-clicking on the left-hand side and clicking on "Delete Slide"
.
It will be removed from the presentation. Don't forget that this is a new document even though it's a template. None of the information put in the slides is going to stay in unless we save it.
13
We're going to click the save icon in the top left-hand corner
.
It looks like a floppy disk.
14
Alternatively, click on "FILE"
.
15
An easier way is to press "Ctrl" + "S" on the keyboard simultaneously.
16
Choose the location to save the document to
.
We'll click on "Computer".
17
Name the document, then click "Save"
.
We can also hit "Enter" on the keyboard. We're going to name it "Welcome!" Wait for it to connect to the server to save it.
18
Once it has saved, we can safely close it
.
19
That is how you create a presentation using a template in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013
.
