You're watching VisiHow. This is a video tutorial on how to create new window groups when multitasking on the Samsung Note 10.1 (2014 Edition).
In order to proceed, make sure that your device is unlocked and that you're on the home screen.
Open the notification panel by swiping down from the top of the screen.
Scroll your quick settings panel left or right in order to find "Multi window".
If "Multi window" is not located on the quick settings panel, tap on the furthest option in the top right-hand corner. The option opens all of the notification panel buttons. You will be shown all of the buttons that have been placed on your notification panel.
Make sure "Multi window" is turned on.
Swipe up from the bottom to close the notification panel.
Swipe left from the right side of the screen. This will bring out the multitasking view. In this video, Gallery and S Note are paired.
Open two applications that you would like to pair together. We open applications by tapping and dragging them to the screen.
We can tap and drag Maps to the screen.
We can drag YouTube to the screen at the same time.
Swipe left from the right side again. You will open the multitasking view.
Tap on the menu button at the bottom.
Now, tap on "Create". This is the second option.
Now we can type a title for the two open applications. The applications are Maps and YouTube.
When we want to open both Maps and YouTube, all we have to do is tap on "Maps/YouTube". The applications are paired as two Windows.
For example, if we want to go back to Gallery and S Note, we tap on "Gallery/S Note". We will have two Windows.
If we want to go to Maps and YouTube, we tap on "Maps/YouTube". We will have a paired screen that we have just created.
