Once it's done, we need to specify the size of the hard drive
    .
For the sake of the tutorial, we're going to make it as small as possible (1GB). To make it 1GB, we need to type in 1024 MB. Alternatively, we simply type in 1 and select GB from the drop down menu. We can do the same thing with MB or TB.

The next section is the virtual hard disk format
    .
The VHD format supports 2 TB of information while VHDX supports up to 64 TB. In this case, we're going to stick to "VHD", but if we wanted to create it even bigger, we'd need to check "VHDX",

The next section is the virtual hard disk type
    .
In this case, it's set to "Fixed size", which means it will only take up 1 GB and won't get larger. If we choose "Dynamically expanding", if the data is written on the virtual disk and 1 GB (in this example) won't be enough, then it will automatically expand. In this case, we're going to select "Fixed size".
