Create Virtual Hard Drive in Windows 8
Edited by Lukward Thomason, Crystal, Eng
Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to create a virtual disk on a Windows 8 computer.
- 6Once it's done, we need to specify the size of the hard drive. For the sake of the tutorial, we're going to make it as small as possible (1GB). To make it 1GB, we need to type in 1024 MB. Alternatively, we simply type in 1 and select GB from the drop down menu. We can do the same thing with MB or TB.
- 8The next section is the virtual hard disk type. In this case, it's set to "Fixed size", which means it will only take up 1 GB and won't get larger. If we choose "Dynamically expanding", if the data is written on the virtual disk and 1 GB (in this example) won't be enough, then it will automatically expand. In this case, we're going to select "Fixed size".
- 12This concludes the tutorial on how to create a virtual disk on a Windows 8 computer. Thank you for watching VisiHow. If you have any other comments or questions, please leave them in the comment section below.
