Edited by Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to create a story in the Photos application on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on the top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we will see the Lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards
.
4
Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the Home screen, and at the bottom we will see several icons
.
It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open the Applications folder.
5
To do that, we need to press down on the icon in the middle
.
At the bottom of the Home screen and in the middle, there is a grid made up of white dots.
6
Press down on this icon, and it will open the "Apps" folder
.
7
In this folder, we need to find the "Photos" application
.
It has an icon of a shape made up of four different colors. It also says the word "Photos" underneath. The Photos application could be located anywhere in the "Apps" folder, so scroll around if needed to find the icon.
8
Once it is found, press down on the "Photos" icon to enter the application
.
9
In this video tutorial, we want to demonstrate how to create a story, and to do that, we need to use the gray "+" icon at the top of the screen
.
10
Press down on that icon, and it will open a menu on the bottom half of the screen
.
The menu is titled, "Create new".
11
We are looking for the "Story" option
.
Next to the word "Story" is an icon of a book.
12
13
Now, it is going to ask us to "Select items"
.
It says, "Select at least 5 photos or videos".
14
To select an item, just press down on the screen until the blue circle with a white check appears in the top left-hand corner of the image or video
.
Press down on as many image or video files as desired.
15
Once we're happy with the number of photos or files we have selected, we can press down on the word "CREATE" at the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
16
Now, it's going to prepare files to create the story
.
Once that is done, we'll be able to edit the text and create a little story using the images we've chosen.
17
This screen is the first page, and the title is shown at the bottom
.
18
Press down on the title section to edit the text
.
We can delete this and put in a new title if desired.
19
When done, press down on the word "SAVE" at the bottom right corner of the white box
.
20
Now, if we swipe to the left, we can see the next page
.
21
There is a location at the top, as indicated by the orange location pin and the name of the location
.
22
If we press down on the location name, we can change it if we would like
.
23
We could also choose the option at the bottom of the screen to "Hide this location from story"
.
24
Press the curved arrow at the bottom in the gray bar to get out of that area
.
25
Now, we have the photo, and at the bottom it says, "Add description"
.
26
We can press down on that box to bring up a keyboard
.
Then we can type in a description of the photo.
27
Press the back arrow in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to bring down the keyboard
.
28
Now, we can swipe through to the next photo
.
29
To add text, just press down in the middle of the photo to bring up a text box at the bottom
.
Inside the text box it says, "Add description". We can press down on that and add some text if desired.
30
Swipe to another photo, and do the same thing again
.
If the text box does not automatically appear at the bottom of the screen, just press down on the photo until it appears.
31
Keep swiping and adding descriptions and text into the boxes until we get to the end of the story
.
32
We can exit the story by pressing the arrow at the top left-hand corner of the screen
.
It will automatically save the story.
33
We can see it says, "Thursday night in Tbilisi", and this is in the "Collections" section
.
34
If we press down on the word "Collections" at the top of the screen, we can then tap on "Stories"
.
35
In that specific section, we'll see all of the stories that have been created
.
36
Tap on the story image to view the story again
.
37
This concludes our tutorial on how to create a story in the Photos application on an HTC One M8
