Create Shortcut for Turning on Hotspot on Windows 8

Hi, you're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to create a shortcut for turning on the hotspot on Windows 8 computers.
The first thing that we need to do is right-click on an empty space on the desktop. In the menu that appears, select "New".
Then select "Text Document" in the sub-menu.
It doesn't really matter what we name our document. For example, let's name it "hotspot".
However, the extension should be changed. In this case, it's ".txt", but we need to type in ".bat". Now, hit "Enter" on the keyboard.
If the extension isn't shown, please watch our previous tutorial on how to show extensions of files.
Once we've created this file, we need to right-click on it, and then select "Edit".
Now, type in "netsh wlan start hostednetwork".
Then go to the menu bar at the top, and click "File" in the top left-hand corner.
Go down to click on "Save".
We can now close this window by clicking the "x" in the upper right-hand corner.
The file icon on the desktop is a shortcut, but we can't enable hotspot just by double clicking on the icon. We need to right-click it, and then choose "Run as administrator".
Now, the hotspot is on. This concludes our tutorial on how to create a shortcut for turning on the hotspot on Windows 8 computers. Thank you for watching VisiHow. If you have any other comments or questions, please leave them in the comment section below.
