You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show how to calculate the length of a cell on a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel. In column "B", we have a list of possible domain names. I want to know how many characters are there in each domain name with the premise being that shorter domain names are better.

Steps

  1. 1
    Click the "D2" cell.

    Type "=len(B2)". Alternatively, you can click the "B2" cell instead of typing it.

    Now, press "Enter".

    You can fill the cells down by double-clicking the "D2" cell.
