Edited by Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how you can copy scanned text to Microsoft Office when using a Microsoft Lumia 535.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Swipe the lock screen up to enter the Home screen
.
3
We need to enter Lumia Camera, so find that tile
.
4
If the Lumia Camera tile is not on your Home screen, you might need to find it by swiping across from right to left and searching for it in the App menu
.
5
Press Lumia Camera to enter the application
.
6
Then we're going to go to the menu at the bottom, which is the ellipsis, or three dots, at the bottom right corner of your screen
.
7
8
Now, tap on the tile that says Bing Vision with the image of an eye
.
9
Now, we want to scan some text, and here we have some text that I will place just in front of the phone
.
10
When the text that I want to scan is on the screen, press the scan text button at the bottom
.
It's going to scan the text for us and copy it, or almost take a photo of it, and record each word.
11
As you can see, it has done that
.
12
What we now need to do is press the menu button, the ellipsis at the bottom right corner
.
13
Now, press copy all at the bottom of the screen
.
14
Now, all of the white rectangles contain the text that the camera has identified
.
We have copied all of them, and now we are ready to paste them into a Microsoft Office Word document. We can go to the Home screen by pressing the icon in the middle at the bottom of our screen.
15
Now, we need to find Microsoft Office
.
The Office tile is orange and has an icon that looks a bit like a side view of a rectangle. You can also find it in the App menu if needed.
16
When you find Microsoft Office, press to open it
.
We want to copy and paste the text we just copied into a new document, so we're going to press the plus sign at the bottom of the screen. This is to start a new document.
17
We have our choices of document type
.
We just want a normal Word document, so we'll press that.
18
Now, what we have here is a normal word document
.
This symbol near the middle of the screen on the left side is the paste icon. It's a circle with a clipboard inside. By pressing this, we will paste the last piece of text or last thing that we copied. What we have obviously just copied is the text we have just scanned using Bing Vision.
19
After pressing the paste icon, you can see that the text we just copied has now been pasted into a Microsoft Office document
.
20
This concludes our tutorial on how to copy scanned text and paste it into Microsoft Office
.
