Copy Audio Files from a CD to Your Windows 10 Computer

Hi! You're looking at VisiHow's tutorial on copying audio files from your CD to your computer.

Things you will need

  • A computer running Windows 10.
  • The CD you want to copy files from.
  • Windows Media Player installed on your computer.

Steps

    Insert the CD into the CD drive on your computer.

    Open Windows Media Player

    (Not on your desktop!) Open Start > All Apps > Windows Media Player.

    Windows should have detected your CD, and all audio files are preceded by a check mark

    Uncheck the items you do not want to copy and continue.

    Click Rip CD

    These files will copy to your library and saved in a playlist

    You can also find the audio files in Windows Explorer > Music.

    You can edit the genre, title, artist and date of the playlist and title of files in the playlist

    You can also delete the playlist or files in the playlist.

    Listen to these files anywhere and anytime, without inserting the CD, using Groove Music or Windows Media Player.
