Manually Connect Galaxy Gear to Samsung Note3

The following procedures will allow you to manually connect your Samsung Galaxy Note3 to Galaxy Gear:

    Turn on your Galaxy Gear

    To turn on your device, press and hold the Power/Home key until Galaxy Gear's screen turns on. The Power/Home key is located on the upper part of the side of the Galaxy Gear.

    Go to your Galaxy Note3's home screen

    You can do this be either tapping on the "Home" key once or tapping the "Back" key until you are taken to the home menu.

    Tap on the "Apps" icon

    The apps icon is located on the lower right part of Note3's screen. Tapping on the Apps icon will take you to the list of all installed applications on your Samsung Galaxy Note3.

    Open the Gear Manager app

    Tap on Connect Manually

    This will automatically turn on your Bluetooth radio and will start scanning for devices that have Bluetooth enabled.

    After scanning, your Galaxy Note3 will display a list of paired and available devices. If you have not yet paired the Galaxy Gear to your Note3, the device will show on the "Available Devices" section. Tap on the device name to start pairing your Note3 and Galaxy Gear.

    Confirm the pairing request

    On your Note3, tap on "OK" when prompted with the Bluetooth pairing request. On your Galaxy Gear, tap on the check mark to confirm the passkey.

    Agree with the license agreement
    .
    Once your devices are connected, you will be taken to the "End user license agreement". Make sure to carefully read the agreement and tap on the corresponding check boxes to acknowledge that you have read and understood, and agree to all the terms and conditions in the agreements. You can also to opt to provide Samsung the error log data from any Software Update failure by ticking on "Yes", or "No Thanks".

Automatically Connect Galaxy Gear to Samsung Note3

The following procedures will allow you to automatically connect your Samsung Galaxy Note3 with the Galaxy Gear:

    Enable the NFC feature of your Samsung Galaxy Note3

    You can start enabling it by going to the Home menu. You can get to the Home menu by pressing the "Back" key a few times until it takes you to the Home menu, or by pressing the "Home" key once.

    From the Settings menu, go to the "Connect and Share" section. Look for NFC and tap on it to open the NFC page.

    I don't have a gear manager

    If you do not have the Gear Manager application, you can read this in-depth article on Install Galaxy Gear Manager on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on your Samsung Galaxy Note3. Samsung has decided not to put the application in the Play Store. It can only be downloaded from Samsung Apps. You can install one for your Samsung Galaxy Note3 by going to Home > tap on Apps > open Samsung Apps > search and download Galaxy Gear. Again, you can simply click on the link provided to view the detailed instructions to get Galaxy Gear on your Note3.

    My phone is not bringing up the Galaxy gear app at the appropriate step in the process?

    When I touch the cradle to the phone it says 'new tag collected' but no Galaxy gear app

    The Galaxy Gear app is required in order for you to be able to follow the process. After that, you can connect through NFC or Bluetooth. Your phone will then bring up the details page of your Galaxy Gear app and then you have to go through the pairing process, which is done manually.

    Re-connect to Gear automatically after being apart?

    The Galaxy gear watch and phone, connect and work correctly. However, if they become disconnected (through out-of-range communications), they will not automatically re-connect when brought together again. Can this be set up to occur automatically?

    Connectivity Gear to Note4 Error?

    Hi, I have the original gear and it worked fine with my Note3, I have upgraded to Note4 and cannot get it to connect to the gear. I have the latest version of gear manager 2.2.15111841 installed, the two devices are paired but when I try and connect I get an error on the gear 'Failed to connect your Gear. Try to connect via Samsung Gear. Refer to the manual for more information'.

    When I first charge, then switch on the electric switch only a moment indicator appeared on the screen. After charging. I push awhile the on button on the side of the item but no response, what should I do?

    How do I fix the media controller?

    Media controller only works for a brief amount of time then stops, how do I properly connect it and keep it working. I have tried: I've tried restarting everything, and deleting everything, nothing changed, still works only briefly. I think it was caused by: I have no clue
