The most important thing to do is to show you how to connect the power cable
    .
Because I'm using the Legria, which is the European model, the Vixia is the North American model, I have a European standard plug. Here we've got our power cable with the end that will go into the camera. As you can see, the power cable end has a different shape, kind of like an upside down You.

We're going to plug it into this little tiny port on the back of the camera

The camera port also is in the shape of an upside down You, so we're going to go ahead and pop it in
    .
As you can see it is nicely seated in there, which is what we want.

Here we've got the other end of our power supply, which is where our cable is going to go
    .

So let's take our cable and our power supply and plug it in
    .
It doesn't matter which way you put it, it will slide in either way. Nice and solidly seated. There will be some cord that looks like there's some hanging out, but that's not the case, it is in all the way. So, don't worry, as long as your cable isn't loose or falling out, you're fine. That is how you install your power cable. To uninstall it, just take it out of the camera.

Next we are going to show you how to install your HDMI cable
    .
Now we can open it up the side of it and there's a port here called the HDMI port.

What we're going to do is plug in our HDMI cable
    .
An HDMI cable always has two ends. The two ends of most HDMI cables are not the same, as you can see here, there are two different ends, one is smaller.

We are going to take the smaller end and plug it into the camera
    .
You will hear a little click when you push it in. Our HDMI cable has been inserted. You don't need to force this cable in, it's good enough like this. If you're a stickler for detail or you're concerned by that, you could always get a smaller cable, but this is fine like this. To get it out, simply pull it out.

Now I'm going to show you how to get your USB cable started
    .
Here is the small end of the USB cable that goes into the camera.

Now I will show you how to get the battery installed and uninstalled
    .
Here is the standard battery that comes with the device. At the top, there's a little arrow which means up.

There is also a set of gold ports at the end which are your connection pins
    .
Those connection pins are going to connect right here where you see the gold pins on the camera. I can actually set my camera on the lens because the lens case is closed so it will not hurt the camera.

The battery does not slide in, it actually has to sit on top and then slide in
    .
In order to sit there, the clip has to allow it to go in.

What we do is set our battery in position and pull the little clip down to the bottom, and now the battery is sitting in position and just needs to be slid in
    .

Now you just push the battery in and it pops in
    .
The battery is all set up and ready to go. The camera is ready to use.
