Edited by Kara, Crystal, Eng
Hello. You are watching VisiHow, and in this video I'll show you how to clear your web browser history when using Safari on the iPhone 6. Let's go to Safari. It's a blue icon that looks a bit like a compass. Tap to open Safari.
Steps
1
To access the browser history click on the icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like an open book
.
2
This will open the Bookmarks screen with an option to go to Favorites or History
.
Since we want to access History, tap "History."
3
After you open History, you can see all of the searches, web links, and addresses that you have accessed or opened on the phone
.
4
There are several ways to clean it up
.
The very first one is to delete each link individually. To do this, slide your finger from right to left on the link you want to remove. When the red Delete button shows up, press it to delete that item.
5
The second way to clear the history is to press Clear at the very bottom right corner of your screen
.
6
After you do that, a menu will appear from the bottom
.
The phone is asking you if you would like to clean the last hour, or clear the whole today, today and yesterday, or clear all of the history.
7
To clear today's history only, tap on Clear Today
.
This will take you back to the list of links on the History page, but now all of the other links besides that day's will be on the list.
8
You can press Clear at the bottom right corner again to bring up the options again
.
9
Press Clear Today & Yesterday to remove all history from the current and previous day
.
10
Tap Clear All History to remove all links from the browser's history
.
It will now be completely clean, and the links cannot be restored.
11
You can click on Done at the top right corner of your screen to close the History and go back to the browser
.
12
If you need to close all of the pages that you looked through, you have to press the two squares icon in the right bottom corner of your screen
.
13
The websites and pages that are open now appear slanted, a bit like a Rolodex
.
Click the X in the left top corner of each page to close it. You can pick a page or just delete each one of them.
14
This is how clearing the web browser history works on the iPhone 6
.
If you have any other questions on phones, computers, and tech please leave them in the section below. Thank you.
