Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show how to clear the local search history from the Google Play Store on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen upwards

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen. At the bottom, we will see icons. It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open up the applications folder.

   Find the icon at the bottom center of the home screen

   It looks like a grid of white dots. Press down on this icon and it will open up the applications folder.

   Find the Play Store application

   In this demonstration, it is in the second row. The icon is a white shopping bag with a colorful shape on it. Underneath, there are the words "Play Store". Press down on this icon and the Google Play Store application will open. What we will show now is the search bar.

   Press the icon located in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   It is shaped like a white magnifying glass. Pressing the icon brings up the search bar and two of our previous searches from our search history. We searched for "fun games" and "home". What we want to do in this video is show how to clear this local search history so that none of it will show here. This is good if we want to get rid of all the information, so people cannot see what has been searched recently.

   Press the back button

   The icon is a downward-pointing arrow or "v" at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Now we're back in the Google Play Store application.

   Press "Settings" located close to the bottom of the menu

   This brings up the "Settings" menu.

   Press "Clear local search history"

   .

   The description says, "Remove searches that you have performed from this device". As we saw earlier, we have some search history. Pressing this option will delete that. Nothing visually happens to show the process, but it does clear the local search history.
